The Natural Park of the Pinetrees of La Breña is only 5 minutes away from Vejer in the direction towards Barbate. This park has one of the most beautiful areas to see as you head towards Barbate, Caños de Meca and Trafalgar´s Lighthouse.

Here, you will find the cliffs of Caños de Meca. They reach heights of 100m above sea level, and are certainly one of the most spectacular in the region. These cliffs are also a favorite nesting place for seagulls, kestrels, owls and buzzards.

The woodland areas below extend right up to the cliff tops. In fact, all Barbette’s cliffs and pine forests have been declared a nature reserve since 1989.

Its pine trees were planted at the end of the last century in order to stabilize the sand dunes and prevent their shifting inland.

El Pinar is noted for being one of the most diverse and well-conserved natural parks in Andalusia.
